We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help build and maintain the core foundations of our data ecosystem and ensure the entire company can rely on clean, consistent, and timely data. You’ll take ownership of how data flows, making it reliable, scalable, and efficient, while partnering closely with analysts, operations, and engineering to ensure our data platform evolves with the needs of a fast-growing organization. You’ll also play a key role in shaping and implementing our company-wide data warehouse, ensuring it delivers structured, high-quality insights that have a real impact on how we operate and scale.

What is Plytix?

Plytix is the world's leading Product Information Management (PIM) platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Plytix PIM helps companies store and organize product information ranging from descriptions and images to prices, and other specifications, in one place. Essentially, it's a handy tool that makes managing and updating product data a whole lot easier.

About our culture

We’re not big on corporate jargon, so we’ll keep it real. This is the part where most companies drop buzzwords like “innovative,” “dynamic,” and “fast-paced.” We’ll pass. Here’s the truth: we care about people, and we care about doing great work together. We’ve been named one of the Best Places to Work in Spain by Great Place to Work® three years in a row (humble brag). Want to see for yourself?

What’s the opportunity?

This is your chance to join a company with a culture that’s genuinely different—in the best way. We’ve been recognized as one of the best places to work in Spain by Great Place to Work®, which speaks to how much we care about building an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring environment.

We’re also a fast-growing organization where data quality, reliability, and intelligent automation are central to how we operate. As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the foundations of our data ecosystem. You’ll have the autonomy to design and optimize pipelines, implement engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with teams across the business to ensure data flows seamlessly and consistently.

In this role, you’ll build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers analytics and decision-making, leading the development of our enterprise data warehouse and ensuring data is structured, efficient, and accessible. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on how the company scales and succeeds.

Our Data Tech Stack
We run our data platform on AWS, leveraging services such as RDS, Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, ECS, and EKS to deliver a scalable and reliable foundation. We intentionally lean towards open-source tooling wherever it creates the most value, using Terraform for IaC, Prefect for orchestration, Airbyte for EL, and dbt Core for transformation. This combination gives us flexibility, transparency, and the freedom to build a modern, cloud-native data ecosystem that evolves with the company.

What will you be doing?

  • Oversee and maintain the reliability and scalability of the data platform.

  • Ensure data pipelines run smoothly through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Build and maintain new data ingestions from internal and external sources.

  • Partner with data analysts and operations to deliver high-value data solutions.

  • Develop and manage system integrations using middleware tools like n8n.

  • Set up and maintain agentic tools (e.g., agentic analysts) to support data access and automation

  • Work closely with engineering and DevOps to align data architecture with best practices.

  • Manage user access, permissions, and overall platform administration.

  • Explore and evaluate new tools and technologies that can bring value to the business.

After 1 month:

You’ve completed your onboarding, gained a solid understanding of our data platform, and familiarized yourself with our pipelines, tools, and workflows. You’ve built strong relationships with the data, operations, engineering, and DevOps teams, and you’re comfortable navigating our development environment. You’re already contributing to small improvements, handling routine maintenance, and taking ownership of low-complexity tasks.

After 3 months:

You’re fully operational and independently managing key parts of the data platform. You’ve stabilized existing pipelines, added at least one new data ingestion, and improved monitoring or reliability for core workflows. You’re actively collaborating with analysts and operations to identify opportunities for automation and data quality enhancements, and you’re starting to contribute to architectural discussions with engineering and DevOps.

6 months in:

You’ve become a central pillar of the data platform, consistently delivering reliable pipelines, new integrations, and meaningful improvements. You’ve led or contributed significantly to larger initiatives such as new ingestion frameworks, agentic tooling, or infrastructure upgrades. Teams across the company trust your expertise, and you play a key role in shaping our data engineering roadmap, ensuring the platform scales smoothly and supports Plytix’s long-term growth.

Who will you be working with?

You’ll work closely with our data analysts, operations teams, and engineering/DevOps to ensure our data ecosystem runs smoothly and scales effectively. You’ll collaborate across the business to understand data needs, support high-value use cases, and make sure the data platform delivers reliable, accessible insights for everyone.

What do we look for in the ideal candidate:

  • Be fluent in English (other languages are a plus!).

  • Have 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer in a modern data environment.

  • Be fully confident writing production-grade Python and advanced SQL - these are must-haves.

  • Be comfortable designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ingestion workflows.

  • Understand ELT/ETL patterns, data modeling fundamentals, and best practices for scalable data architecture.

  • Understand core data governance principles such as schema management, access control, and data quality.

  • Familiarity with the AWS service ecosystem (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, ECS, RDS).

  • Be comfortable integrating external systems and APIs, including using middleware or automation tools.

  • Be familiar with BI/reporting needs and how data consumers interact with the warehouse.

  • Communicate clearly and work well with analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Bring a proactive mindset, curiosity, and a drive to improve systems and processes.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins - bonus points if you’ve built slick automations you’re proud of.

  • Exposure to AI automation and agentic workflows (LangChain, LlamaIndex, n8n) and a curiosity for pushing what these tools can do.

  • Familiarity with modern orchestration frameworks such as Prefect or Airflow

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to keep things tidy, repeatable, and stress-free.

  • Kubernetes experience is a very big plus. It’s not required, but if you’ve deployed, debugged, or even just experimented with workloads on EKS or any K8s cluster, we’ll be genuinely excited.

  • A dog 🐶 (we love dogs).
