Head of Business Intelligence

  • Permanent
  • Full time
  • Remote
  • Operations

We are creating a new team in Plytix that we call Business Intelligence. It includes Finance, Revenue Operations, AI Automations Specialists, and Data Analysts. We’re looking for someone to lead that team along with all their projects.

The Head of BI will report directly to the CEO and help build and build business critical processes, as well as building a new foundation for business intelligence that will make Plytix even more data-driven.

What is Plytix?

Plytix is the world's leading Product Information Management (PIM) platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Plytix PIM helps companies store and organize product information ranging from descriptions and images to prices, and other specifications, in one place. Essentially, it's a handy tool that makes managing and updating product data a whole lot easier.

About our culture

This is where you’d typically see a long paragraph of boring text that no one reads, peppered with corporate buzzwords that don’t mean anything. But, Plytix is no typical company, so we’ll spare you that. Instead, watch this video, and if you like what you see, keep scrolling.

What’s the opportunity?

This is your chance to join a company with a culture that’s genuinely different—in the best way. We’ve been recognized as one of the best places to work in Spain by Great Place to Work®, which speaks to how much we care about building an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring environment.

We’re also a fast-growing organization where operational excellence, data intelligence, and smart decision-making are at the heart of our strategy. In this role, you’ll have the autonomy to redesign processes, implement best practices, and lead a cross-functional team with the goal of scaling sustainably. As a people leader, you’ll coach, develop, and motivate your team to reach their full potential—while making a tangible impact on the company’s growth. And you’ll spearhead the creation of our enterprise data warehouse, ensuring that our data is structured, accessible, and ready to power every decision.

What will you be doing?

  1. First and foremost you’ll be leading a team of highly capable and talented specialists. And while we do not expect you to outsmart any of the individuals in their own field, we do expect you to have the holistic overview of how everything ties together so you can coordinate and set priorities. Being a manager of this team also means that you’re responsible for deadlines being met across all functions.
  2. You’ll be leading important projects. Some big, and some small. An example of a project is an ongoing project that entails consolidating all of our various data-sources into an internal data-warehouse on which we can deploy a business intelligence tool. The data-warehouse project shall ensure that we have accurate data across all connected systems and data sources. The second part of the project is to deploy an AI layer on top so we can analyze data agentically regardless of the source of origin.
  3. Like any company, Plytix relies on internal processes. It will also be your job to map these processes and make sure we can easily detect and eliminate inefficiencies. We also expect you to set up and enforce scheduled process revisions.
  4. Last, but not least. You and your team will be responsible for creating reports and dashboards for management together with the CEO. Your team is also responsible for delivering all those boring bureaucratic reports and deliverables for governments and other official institutions. It sucks, - we know - but that’s unfortunately part of the job.

After 1 month:

You’ll have a solid grasp of our internal processes, team setup, and go-to-market motion. You’ll have met every team member and started shaping how your team operates—setting priorities and mapping out the data warehouse scope and requirements. You’ll also have started building real connections with key stakeholders across departments. By this point, you’ll already have your playbook for coordinating, communicating, and driving projects forward with your team.

After 3 months:

You’re now optimizing processes like Mo Salah score goals. You’ve delivered dashboards that actually get used, and set up reporting systems that connect operations to financial outcomes. The data warehouse project will be well into build mode, with the first pieces already live and producing real insights.

6 months in:

You’ll be the go-to person for everything operations, data, and budgeting. Processes will run smoothly without constant firefighting, your team will be performing at its best, and the data warehouse will be fully live—giving everyone a single, reliable source of truth for business intelligence. You’ll also know exactly where to step in when something isn’t working, without micromanaging.

Who will you be working with?

You’ll work closely with the CEO while directly managing a team of talented operations professionals. You’ll also collaborate with other department heads to ensure the entire business runs seamlessly.

Need to have:

  1. People management: We expect you to have 5+ years experience with leading teams. We’re not looking for someone who knows how to schedule weekly 1:1s. Instead we expect you to be there for your team and make sure they have what they need to move their projects forward.
  2. Project Management: 5+ years leading projects with multiple stakeholders. We need you to love project management and ideally you get nervous ticks when things are delayed.
  3. Finance: We don’t expect you to have a finance degree, but we do expect you to have a good understanding of accounting and financial reporting.
  4. Process optimization: We expect you to be obsessed with process maps and know your way around building flow-charts and diagrams
  5. Data warehouse: While we don’t expect you to be Systems Engineer yourself, we do expect you to have enough knowledge in the area to liaise and coordinate with one.
  6. Business Intelligence: We expect you to know how to build simulation tools for forecasting and decision making. Not only build them actually, but also to use them, as you’ll be doing a lot of that with the senior management team.
  7. Break-dancing: Just kidding. This is not a required skill, but it would be pretty cool if you can ;)

Nice to have

  • Experience in either Retail, B2B SaaS, or from other scale-ups are all highly appreciated attributes.
  • Experience leading a Data-warehouse + Business Intelligence project is also high on our wish-list.
  • Background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Experience with transfer pricing. Wow, wouldn’t that be something
  • A dog 🐶 (we love dogs).
